OUR SERVICES

Highland-Clarksburg Hospital is a not for profit acute psychiatric hospital located in Clarksburg, WV. HCHI provides inpatient psychiatric and mental health services for children, adolescent and adult patients. Our staff continually measure, evaluate and implement the necessary care to assist in stabilizing the patient struggling with severe emotional, behavioral, and cognitive concerns.

 

Each patient is assigned to a multidisciplinary treatment team which is composed of a psychiatrist, nurse, therapist, case manager, recreational specialist and others, as necessary. This team assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the patient’s care. Services may include medication management, individual, group and family therapy, as well as recreational modalities. Specialty medical services are provided on a consultative basis.

Acute Care for Children & Adolescents

Highland-Clarksburg Hospital’s mission is to provide quality behavioral health services to children, adolescents and their families in a caring environment. The inpatient program for children and adolescents ages 8-17 provides an acute level of care for patients who are experiencing emotional, behavioral and cognitive concerns. A multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals develop an individualized treatment plan based on the patient’s emotional and behavioral needs and goals of the patient. Multiple treatment modalities are utilized to help the patient reach their treatment goals including: medication management, individual, group and family therapy, nursing and skill building groups, case management services and recreational activities.

 

A common question parents and guardians ask our staff is what is inpatient treatment? This is an acute level of care that typically includes a short hospital stay, during which your child or adolescent receives intensive therapeutic interventions. The goal of the inpatient program is to help your child or adolescent reach a point in their recovery where they can progress to a lower level of care, such as a residential program our outpatient therapy.

Acute Care and Services for Adults

The adult program provides acute mental health treatment for adults over 18 years of age. The goal of treatment is to stabilize acute symptoms and enhance the patient’s strengths and coping skills. Our acute care adult services specializes in treating those facing a multitude of mental health issues with a focus on treating each patient as an individual. Every patient is different, so each treatment plan is tailored to the patient’s needs.

A multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals develop an individualized treatment plan based on the patient’s emotional and behavioral needs and goals of the patient. Multiple treatment modalities are utilized to help the patient reach their treatment goals including: medication management, individual, group and family therapy, nursing and skill building groups, recreational activities, psychoeducational opportunities, individualized case management services, and discharge planning.
